Cognitive memory

Memory is not a transcript archive. It is a governed system for retaining the right context at the right level of confidence.

Immediate

Working Memory

Active context required for the current task and execution state.

Durable

Long-term Memory

Persistent information that remains useful across tasks and time.

Governed

Validated Memory

Human- or policy-approved knowledge with explicit confidence and provenance.

Temporal

Historical Memory

Prior versions, decisions and states preserved for audit and comparison.

Adaptive

Experience Memory

Outcomes and corrections that can improve future planning and evaluation.

Memory requires policy

Retention, access, correction and deletion must be intentional. Memory objects need provenance, sensitivity, ownership and lifecycle state. More stored data is not automatically more intelligence.
